  • This is the grave and cemetery of John Henry Zivley that died in 1824. His wife, Permelia Leah Pendleton-Zivley and some of the family moved to Fayetteville, Tennessee. His older son, James Alexander, went to California to hunt for gold and his youngest son, John Henry married Mary Francis Wallace and moved to Texas after their oldest son Van was born in 1851 in Alabama. There are many Zivley's still living in Texas. Some of their daughters grandchildren also came to Texas. It is not believed that James A. never married or had any children as no records have been found on anyone but him as a single man. The first members of the family were Swiss and arrived in America in about 1750. Thank you Google for placing this cemetery in our maps.
